Taleemun (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use: taleemun.com, institute custom domains, and institute-branded Android and iOS applications powered by Taleemun.
Where an Institute provides its own branded app or custom domain, the Institute may also act as a data controller for certain learning data. Taleemun typically acts as a technology service provider and processes data to operate the Platform.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account & Profile Data
- Name
- Email address
- Username (if applicable)
- Password (stored in hashed form; we do not store your plain password)
- Profile photo (if provided)
2.2 Authentication Data
- Authentication status and tokens required to keep you signed in
- Google Sign-In identifiers (if you choose Google Sign-In)
- Custom authentication identifiers (as configured for your institute)
2.3 Learning & Course Activity Data
- Enrollments and course access records
- Course progress and completion
- Quiz and assignment submissions, grades, and feedback (where enabled)
- Certificates earned (where offered)
- Discussion posts and messages (where enabled)
2.4 Technical, Device & Log Data
- IP address
- Device type, operating system, browser/app version
- Approximate location (derived from IP; not precise GPS unless you explicitly permit it)
- Log files, timestamps, crash reports, and diagnostic data (to maintain reliability)
- Cookies and similar identifiers (see Cookies section)
2.5 Institute-Provided Data
Your Institute may request additional information (e.g., student ID, department, cohort) depending on its program. When provided, such data may be visible to and managed by the Institute as part of delivering the learning experience.
3. How We Use Data
We use data to:
- Create and manage accounts and provide authentication
- Deliver courses and learning features (enrollment, progress, assessments, certificates)
- Provide institute-specific experiences (custom domain, themed app, organization-only courses)
- Communicate important updates (service notices, security alerts)
- Monitor, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Maintain and improve system performance and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Google Sign-In
If you use Google Sign-In, we receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile image (as provided by Google). We do not receive or store your Google password.
Google may process data according to its own privacy policy. You may revoke access through your Google account settings.
6. Sharing & Disclosure
We may share data in the following cases:
- With your Institute: to deliver courses, track progress, issue certificates, provide support, and administer learning programs.
- With service providers: hosting, email delivery, analytics, monitoring, and customer support tools used to operate the Platform.
- With payment providers: if paid features exist, to process transactions securely.
- For legal reasons: to comply with applicable law, regulations, lawful requests, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on Institute requirements and the type of data.
You may request deletion of your account (subject to legal and legitimate operational requirements) by contacting us (see Contact).
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS, access controls, monitoring, and secure authentication methods to protect your data. However, no security method is perfect and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Institutes may also manage certain learning records as part of their programs.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If an Institute provides learning programs for minors, the Institute is responsible for obtaining required parental/guardian consents and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the Effective Date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
